Take a look at these lard advertisements by the N.K. Fairbank company, late 1800s. Fairbank, located in Chicago, was a major processor of the byproducts of Chicago’s meatpacking industry. If you have ever read The Jungle, you’ll suspect that what happened in Fairbank’s plants was not quite as delightful as these advertisements.
