We’re currently living through a health crisis, a political crisis, and an economic crisis all rolled into one. Not only have more than 30 times the number of Americans died from COVID-19 as died during the 9–11 attacks, but our economy is on the ropes with no clear path to recovery.

What’s worse is that we lack a president with the will or the ability to coordinate any sort of systematic response to the pandemic. As many have noticed, the problem is not that the Trump administration has tried to execute a bad plan to combat the pandemic, or…
